Barbecue Philly Steak Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 Rock Star Fondue Cheese Bake
- Skinny fries, to serve
- 4 part-baked half ciabattas or mini baguettes
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- Olive oil
- 1 green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red chilli, thinly sliced
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- Sea salt and black pepper
- ½ tsp dried mixed herbs
- Curly parsley or chives (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190°C fan/170°C/Gas 5.
- Cook the Rock Star Fondue Cheese Bake according to the pack instructions. Cook the fries at the same time. Add the ciabattas to the oven for the last 5 minutes of cooking the bake.
- Meanwhile, fry the sliced onions in a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat for 4-5 minutes then increase the heat a little and add the green peppers and red chilli. Fry for another couple of minutes.
- Rub the steaks on both sides with a little oil, some salt and pepper and the dried herbs
- Barbecue the steaks until done to your liking and set aside to rest for 5 minutes. If you like, pop the bread onto the barbecue for a minute to char slightly.
- Slice the ciabattas in half and pile the peppers and onions onto the bottom halves. Cut the steaks into very thin slices and add to the sandwiches. Sprinkle over the fresh herbs, if you like, then spoon some of the cheese bake over each sandwich. Pop on the lids and serve with the rest of the bake on the side for dipping.
